Paula Closson Buuntitled-64ck’s third book of poetry, You Cannot Shoot a Poem, was published by Louisiana State University Press in November 2018. Closson Buck is the author of two other books of poems, The Acquiescent Villa (1998) and Litanies Near Water (2008), both from Louisiana State University Press, and a novel, Summer on the Cold War Planet, from Fomite Press (2015). Her individual poems have appeared in such journals as Agni, Denver Quarterly, Gettysburg Review, Shenandoah, and Southern Review, and she has recent short stories in Ploughshares, Southern Review, and Kenyon Review. Closson Buck has been the recipient of three Individual Artist Grants from The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and a Fulbright teaching/research grant for Cyprus, where she collaborated with two Cypriot visual artists in 2014. In addition to teaching at Bucknell University as professor of English, for eleven years she edited West Branch, the nationally distributed literary magazine published out of Bucknell’s Stadler Center for Poetry. She is currently at work on a novel set in Venice.
